Using Facebook as your business
Back to posts
With one of the latest updates to business pages on Facebook a new function was added to allow you to use Facebook as your business. This allows you to comment on other pages as your business rather than as yourself personally.
There are a few benefits of doing this, the main one being it allows you to promote your business more ways and a lot easier.
Previously if I wanted to post a comment on someone else’s page answering a question on web design, the comment would be left by myself personally. The reply/comment would come from Joy Carrick with my profile pic and I would have to write within the comment that I was from FeralArt and give a link to my Facebook page or website. Now I just need to click a button allowing me to post as my business and write my response, showing my business profile pic (my logo) and name as FeralArt, which also links to my Facebook page.
This change has also allowed you to ‘like’ other businesses and pages as your business, a good networking technique.
Any pages I like appear on my FeralArt Facebook page on the left hand side, and my page will appear on the left hand side of any business that likes my page, so I may gain more followers from people being referred through these links.
To use Facebook as your business first go to your business page. In the right column towards the top there will be a link saying ‘Use Facebook as MyBusiness’ (found under the admin icons).

Once you have clicked this link you are now using Facebook as your business.
A popup will appear asking you if you would like to take a tour, this will quickly take you through 4 steps of information.
To change back to using Facebook as yourself, go to the ‘Account’ drop down button in the top right corner and select ‘Switch back to Myself’.
