Guest blogging can work both ways for your business. If you have a blog you may ask employees, business partners or other people within your industry to write something for you. This is a good way to gain more readers as they will promote and link to the post that they write, while gaining more content for your blog without much effort on your part.
You might also think about being a guest blogger for someone else’s blog. If you don’t have a blog and don’t think you have time for one, writing for another blog is a good alternative as you don’t have the ongoing commitment but can still promote you expertise.
You may also think about being a guest blogger to gain more readers to your own blog. When you write a guest post you will be able to write a brief blurb about yourself at the end where you can link to your own website and/or blog.
When writing for another blog always remember to go back and visit your post regularly soon after it has been published. Depending what you write about people may comment with thanks, questions or opinions which you should acknowledge by replying. While being courteous to readers you will also be more likely to be asked to be a guest blogger again!
