During September and October I helped out a few projects that looked at the issue of homelessness.
The Home is… exhibition is now up and running until November 4 at the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum in Lilydale. Through words and images some people who are at risk of homelessness told us their stories of past, present and hopes for the future. We are currently reprinting the exhibition booklets because it has been so popular.
During the month our local Councillor Tim Heenan slept outside in a box for 16 nights to raise awareness of homelessness. Before the sleepout we helped him set up a Twitter account so he could keep everyone up to date with his progress, people he met and problems he faced (cold wet nights and stolen items were just a couple).
