Thunderbird Email Template

To set up an email template in thunderbird you will first need to have the template emailed to you by your designer as a HTML attachment. Once you have received the file save it onto your computer.
Open Thunderbird and go to the Tools menu and Account Settings.

In the Account Settings window tick the box that says ‘Attach the signature from a file instead (text, HTML, or image). Then press the Choose button.

Find the HTML file on your computer and press Open.
Then press OK.
While you are in the Account Settings section click on the ‘Composition & Addressing’ button in the left menu area.

In here you can choose to start your response to an email above the original email or below. Thunderbird automatically starts your response below the original email, which can get confusing, so this is where you change it.
